Chronicle of A Death Foretold

Type: Crime Fiction, Novella

Author: Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Publication Date: 1981
Country: Colombia
Pages: 122

The book tells the story of how Santiago Nasar, a successful and wealthy businessman, was killed by the Vicario twins after it came to light that he had violated their sister. An engrossing read, it tells of human emotions, fatal flaws and all the desperate measures that his friends took to save him, only to see him murdered in the end. As usual, Marquez’s style is descriptive, and sentimental and hits you like a soft blow in the end.
