After a man-eating great white shark starts attacking beachgoers on Amity Island, police chief Martin Brody looks into the case but is immediately overpowered by Mayor Larry Vaughn who is worried about the town’s economy. However, an incident leads Brody to a shark hunt wherein he tries to hook the shark with the help of a consulting oceanographer, Hooper and Quint.
