A Remake of the 2011 Tamil film Kanchana, Laxmi revolves around the character of Aasif played by Akshay Kumar. A transgender ghost enters the body of Aasif thus bringing a shock to the whole family. By crooked methods, the ghost is thrown out and trapped. Laxmi, the ghost then goes on to tell her gruelling story. Murdered by the power corrupt axis, Laxmi enters Aasif's body to set out on a rampage of revenge cum justice.
