Patriots Day is loosely based on true events that took place in Boston. On a normal day with a normal crowd on the roads, the Tsarnaev brothers go ahead with their heinous plan of bombing the area. The attack is confronted as a terrorist attack and an investigation is started right away. The authorities finally get through the skin and find out about the Tsarnaev brothers. While the brothers try to flee the city in the process to escape, a big manhunt begins to catch hold of the terrorists.
