The residents of a town called Chanderi are of the opinion that the ghost of a woman called Stree comes after men every year during a religious festival, leaving behind only their clothes. On one of the occasions, when Vicky, the protagonist’s friend disappears during the night, he gets suspicious and confronts a woman whom he met recently, owing to her bizarre behaviour. But when she comes out clean, their search leads them on to Rudra who helps them learn more about Stree and eventually uncover certain truths about her existence.
