This movie is set in Kabul and revolves around two best friends Amir who is wealthy and Hassan who is the son of Amir’s father's servant. Their friendship is tested when one day Hassan is sexually assaulted and Amir is not able to help. Riddled with the guilt he distances himself from Hassan and moves to the United States. The story shifts after 20 years as Amir attempts to rescue Hassan’s son against the backdrop of Afghanistan’s historical situations.
