Jack Torrence is a recovering alcoholic who accepts the job to overlook a popular resort Overlook Hotel in Colorado during the off-season. He sees this as a great opportunity to complete his book as he, his wife and his young son will be all alone. After settling in, his son Danny starts seeing horrific past incidents that occurred in the hotel with his ability known as ‘the shinning’ and eventually Jack starts to lose his mind which leads to dangerous circumstances. This movie is a thrill ride and you will be scared throughout mainly because of Nicholson’s superb acting.
