Though not everyone can become a lawyer but these shows surely gives a glimpse into the trailblazing life of a lawyer which is no less interesting than any reality show star. 1. Suits
Harvey Specter is one of the top lawyers in New York City who hires a young and talented Mike Ross despite him having a law degree. The series follows difficulties in hiding Mike’s secret, Harvey and Mike’s bromance while they solve cases and the daily struggles in a law firm. The initial 4 seasons of the show is spectacular and after that, the show tends to drag a little but it is still worth a watch till the end.
2. Boston Legal
An ethically challenged lawyer joins a very successful law firm Crane, Poole & Schmidt where he is the best friend of the founding partner, Denny Crane. Together they solve complicated cases sometimes using unethical methods. The show is supremely witty and the chemistry between the main leads Spader and Shatner is outstanding along with nice comic timing.
3. How To Get Away With Murder
The powerhouse of acting Viola Davis stars as a defence attorney and law professor. She has five summer interns who are law students working for her and learn the lesson in how to get away with murder when a literal murder takes place because of which their lives become intertwined while they deal with their personal lives. Though the initial seasons of the series were superior but still can be watched in totality.
4. The Firm
Though the show was cancelled after its first season as it could not live up to the standards set by the movie The Firm upon which the show was based on but is still a one time watch as it will keep you entertained. It picks up after 10 years of the events taking place in the movie in which attorney Mitch is targeted by the Chicago mob because he was responsible for the arrest of the mob-related firm.
5. The Good Wife
A homemaker for 13 years, Alicia Florricks’s life is turned upside down when her husband, a former State Attorney gets convicted in a corruption and sex scandal. Now Alicia must return to her former life as a litigator in order to earn for her two children. Her struggles and commitment to become a successful woman is wonderfully depicted by ace actor Julianna.
6. The Practice
This popular show is based on the life of Bobby Donnell who is the head of a powerful law firm in Boston. His equation with his colleagues, difficult cases, association with various clients is explored in this series. The members of the firm are often drawn into controversies which makes them take tough decisions that question their ethics and morality.
7. Law & Order
With numerous seasons and spin-offs, this shows is well known for intense drama and gives the viewers inside knowledge about the world of law and order. The first half of each episode is dedicated to the investigation of the crime and the second half deals with the prosecution of the offender. Inspired by real-life events and news headlines, this show becomes quite relevant to understanding the way the various law mechanisms operate.
