Synopsis
Rani, a free-spirited, independent Delhi girl, gets into an arranged marriage with Rishabh and transfers to Jawalapur. Both of them have some good relations as well as bad. But, both of their lives change after the entry of the third person, Neel (Rishabh’s cousin). His entrance and their connection leads Rani to jail as a suspect of her husband's murder. This movie is a must-watch psychological romantic thriller. Watch it and find out how their lives get entangled and end as a murder mystery.
Highlights
The story is about Rani and Rishabh, who gets into an arranged marriage and live in Jawalapur. After a rushed arranged marriage of convenience, they feel disconnected. Rishabh likes her personality and looks, but Rani wants someone different from Rishabh. Due to many misunderstandings, they feel that they are poles apart and are not fit for each other hence they usually end up in endless fights every day. Rishu’s mother also doesn’t like her attitude as she didn't know any household chores.
But, the real problem arises with Neel’s entry (Rishu cousin), with whom Rani fall in love and shares an intimate relationship. Thus, begins a love triangle between Rani, Rishabh and Neel. This whole love web makes Rani a suspect in her husband's murder case. Did Rani kill Rishabh to live with Neel? Or was she cut off from Neel?
Positives
The directors have executed the story very well, and they have shown mystery and thrill very correctly. This movie has a well-written story that has glued the audience to their seats until the end. Moreover, it has reflected some significant issues like obsession, hatred in a new manner. The movie also leaves no stone unturned to challenge and oppose the stereotyped female roles (Rani don't do any household chores initially).
Furthermore, the acting done by the main leads was highly impressive. Alongside, the supporting actors (Rishabh’s mother) have done a terrific job in the movie and adds humour to the story. This movie presents a blend of romance and mystery genres with a tinge of humour by its hilarious dialogues. Visually, the film was very appealing, and the direction was done very nicely.
Negatives
There are not many negative points in the movie, but the one major factor that reduces the ratings is its stretched story. The film has been extended by 20 - 30 minutes more, giving the audience a little bit of boredness. The directors and story writers could end the movie early without stretching the story too much and making it jumbled up for the audience to understand.
Moreover, the music and sound were not appropriately given to the movie. The songs did not become that popular that is somehow a downside for this movie too. Another downside of the film that there was not much focus on crime or any investigation of crime. The ending and random twists were a little illogical and became a significant downside of the movie.
Conclusion
Haseen Dillruba though falters in some sections but is a great watch if you are looking for something new to watch. The great star cast makes the movie even more appealing and you will not get bored for even a moment.
