Synopsis

Kota Factory focuses on Vaibhav Pandey who arrives in Kota for the JEE-IIT coaching. The 16-year-old is now in the city and struggles to live by himself. With the portrayal of various characters, Kota Factory draws the attention of its viewers towards the life and journey of JEE aspirants. The struggle and the daily life of the students are well portrayed in the series. All in all, Kota Factory is a series with rich quality and it is a must-watch.

Highlights

Season 2 starts with Vaibhav Pandey arriving in the Maheshwari Coaching Institution. Vaibhav leaves behind Prodigy for better opportunities at Maheshwari. The teenager struggles to cope with the new environment that is more challenging than the Prodigy Institution. But Vaibhav quickly becomes friends with a newcomer, Shushruth. Both spend a lot of time together. However, Vaibhav also spends time with his best friends Meena and Uday from the prodigy days. Slowly he also gets comfortable with Vartika. Both like each other and they finally start dating each other.

On the other hand, Jeetu Bhaiya leaves the Prodigy Institution to open up his institution. He opens up a new institution called Aimers that is just walking distance from the Maheshwari coaching institution. However, not everything goes right for him due to funding issues. Even Vaibhav deals with a lot of problems. He also gets diagnosed with jaundice. This creates a hindrance in his studies and all his friends try to take care of him. When fit, Vaibhav Pandey restarts his studies for JEE advance. Jeetu Bhaiya gets his funding from a U.S based friend and the Aimers Institution is opened up in Kota.

Positives

The best aspect of the Kota Factory series is its cast. Mayur Moore and Jitendra Kumar dwell in their respective characters of Vaibhav Pandey and Jeetu Bhaiya. Even Alam Khan aces in the character of Uday. Other supporting characters have also done a good job.

The second season of Kota Factory has gone a little bold compared to the first season. This season focuses more on the sensitive issues which are not talked about like periods, mental health, and gender equality.

Kota Factory is a unique series with a unique level of cinematography. The black and white colour adds more beauty to it. Even the music is up to the mark this season. And all the needless Uncademy praises in the dialogues have been done away with after the Netflix acquisition.

Negatives

The writing seems to be lacking the touch in the second season. The storyline often moves away from the central characters while focusing on other needless aspects. The writers have tried to prolong the duration of the story by doing so which can seem quite unnecessary.

Conclusion

Though Kota Factory season 2 is not anywhere near to the first season, the TVF magic makes it worth watching.
