Synopsis:

Srikant unexpectedly joins a corporate job to finally become 'the family man' his family wanted him to be. But a new wave threatening national security prompts him to rejoin the TASC. This time it's a whole different ball game in a whole new different place. With national security, Srikant has to handle his growing kids and an unhappy wife. An emotional and thrilling journey follows.

Highlights:

Srikant Tiwari jump ships to the corporate sector while joining a company called Cache Me. He does all this to give time to his family especially his wife Suchi. He starts spending time with his family while at the other end, the Sri Lankan Tamil rebels have joined hands with ISI to strike the Indian Prime Minister as well as The Sri Lankan President on the eve of the latter's visit to India.

While Srikant is unable to break the ice with Suchi, he itches for his action-packed and thrilling former job. Raji, played by Samantha, is brought into the coveted mission to strike two targets in one strike. A trained pilot, Raji has seen every humiliation on herself from the male-dominated society. Srikant finally quits his corporate job and rejoins TASC. Srikant and his men land in Chennai in a desperate attempt to avert the unholy mission of ISI and the Tamil Rebels. An action-packed thriller journey then follows.

Positives:

Manoj Bajpayee:
This one has to be Manoj's best performance in recent times. He yet again delivers the end product thus standing very well on the expectation barrier. The way he carries the beautiful character of Srikant Tiwari is incredible. A family man that is a Dad, Husband, Friend, Son and most importantly a Secret Agent, Manoj has outperformed all these roles comfortably.

Inclusiveness:
The Family Man's season 2 has the incredible feature of inclusiveness thus giving space to different cultures and language. Season 2 has a major Tamil element in its storyline and the constant interchanging of its language from Hindi to English and Tamil speaks volumes of its Inclusive approach. One would not find many shows with an approach like in this one. Also, they try to bridge the gap between North Indians and South Indians by breaking stereotypes when it comes to both. In the end, everyone is an Indian first.

Negatives:

Don't hype if it's not worth it :
The showmakers did almost everything right but it did a brutal injustice to Raji's character. The character had so much potential but the writers horribly failed in providing any metal to the character. Months before the release, the showmakers started hyping up Raji's character but the character hardly did anything significant. From the hype of being the strongest character to the reality of being the weakest character, Family Man got it wrong here.

Chellam Sir:
When anything doesn't work, the Chellam magic works. The family man had many situations where the protagonists were helpless and then came to Chellam to help. The former agent is found nearly every time when the situation goes bad and his advice is like that magical medicine that doesn't exist in the real world but only in the fantasy world. Sometimes it starts to feel as if Chellam sir is the real hero and not Srikant.

Conclusion:

The Family Man Season 2 quite incredibly retains the legacy of its first season. A thriller that will keep you hooked on the screens wanting for more. Season 2 has a perfect start and an end. Go for it because there's nothing like The Family Man.

Our rating for the Show is 4 / 5.
