This movie encompasses the events that take place during the 30th wedding anniversary of Mrs and Mr Mehra. In order to celebrate this occasion, or rather show off their ability to celebrate it, they set out on a cruise with family and friends. This trip is packed with a tumultuous series of affairs that revolve around the dysfunctional Mehra family and can also be seen as a satire on the high-class society.

Two best friends, Rahul and Anjali witness a sudden change in their lives after Tina, their Principal’s daughter enters the scenario. While it marks the beginning of a love story between Rahul and Tina, Anjali comes to realise her feelings for Rahul but it’s too late. Years later, when Rahul and Tina’s daughter read a letter by her late mother, she resolves to reunite Rahul and Anjali in the bond of love.
5. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
Kabir’s bachelor trip to Spain with his two best friends, Arjun and Imran turns out to be a life-changing experience for the three of them. Arjun and Imran had grown apart over the years because of an incident that took place long ago. As the trip progressed, it served an opportunity for them to mend their broken friendship, for Arjun to fall in love again and for Imran to face certain realities that defined his existence.
6. Dil Chahta Hai
This movie is an ideal depiction of the different shades of life and how things rapidly change as we grow up. Three friends who were inseparable during their youth are distanced with time due to some unusual occurrences. Nonetheless, they eventually come together to support each other and bury their differences for the sake of their friendship.

‘Padmavat’ is inspired by the life of Queen Padmavati who was known for her resplendent beauty. She was married to a Rajput ruler, Maharawal Ratan Singh and they led a happy life until Alauddin Khilji heard of the Queen’s charm and decided to invade their kingdom to possess Padmavati. Even though he succeeded in taking over the kingdom, his evil plan fails to produce the desired outcome.

Ved, a man who is suffering from a borderline personality disorder and is trying to discover his true identity, falls in love with Tara who meets in Corsica. However, his personality does not coincide with the Ved Tara meets afterwards in Delhi. He is a completely different individual than the one she initially fell in love with, leading to certain complications. The story further depicts how Ved fights his inners demons and how Tara is always by his side throughout this journey.
9. Bajirao Mastani
This particular film is a historical romance between Peshwa Bajirao and Princess Mastani. Although Bajirao is married to Kashibai, he falls in love with Mastani who is not welcomed by his family. They fight for their love and Bajirao accepts her as his second wife which breaks Kashibai’s heart. With time, she tried to accept Mastani but Bajirao’s mother and elder son plot to kill her which leads to certain twists in the story.
10. Main Hoon Na
When Major Ram gets an opportunity to fulfil his deceased father’s last wish, he embarks on his journey to Darjeeling as an undercover student, where he is also assigned the task of protecting General Bakshi’s daughter, Sanjana. Initially, he has a hard time befriending Sanjana which leads to comical events but an incident changes things for them and he’s able to establish a close bond with his brother, Laxman and Sanjana, giving way to further developments in the plot.
11. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham
A classic Karan Johar creation that encompasses various characters around whom the story is woven. This film was a major commercial success and still continues to be the audiences’ favourite. After Rahul, the adopted son of Yash Raichand falls in love with Anjali, a middle- class woman, Yash asks his son to leave the house. However, when Rahul’s younger brother, Rohan returns home after years, he finds out of what took place in his absence and resolves to reunite his family.

Krish and Ananya, whose paths collide at graduate school, find themselves in a difficult situation involving their families after they decide to get married. They belong to two extremely different cultural backgrounds, Krish being a Punjabi boy and Ananya a Tamil Brahmin. This cultural distinction does not go well by their parents, who are against this union. The movie further depicts the struggles that the couple has to overcome in order to build a life together.
